How Much Does a Wedding Photographer Cost in Dubai?
Straight answer first: most couples in Dubai spend somewhere between AED 5,000 and AED 15,000 on wedding photography — but the real number depends on a few things worth understanding before you book. Here's the honest breakdown.
The typical ranges in 2026
Dubai is a wide market — there are students with a camera and there are international names flown in. For a skilled, established photographer, here's roughly where the market sits:

These are market ballparks, not fixed prices — every wedding is different, which is exactly why most good photographers quote per wedding rather than list a flat menu. My own wedding photography is quoted all-in per event, with no hidden extras.
What actually drives the price
- Hours & number of events. A single ceremony costs far less than a three-day Indian celebration with mehndi, sangeet and reception.
- Photo only, or photo + film. Adding a wedding film is the single biggest factor — and usually the most worth it.
- Second shooter. Two angles on the big moments (one on the couple, one on reactions) adds cost but a lot of coverage.
- Albums & prints. A physical album is an add-on most couples are glad they kept.
- Destination & travel. Out-of-Dubai or out-of-UAE weddings add travel and accommodation.
- Experience. A wedding happens once and never pauses — experience is what you're really paying for.
Photo, or photo and film?
This is the question that decides most of the budget. A photo freezes a moment; a film keeps the sound and motion — the vows in their voice, the speech that made everyone cry, the first dance. Booking both with one team is usually more cost-effective than two separate vendors, and it means a single, consistent look. If something has to flex, flex the album before you drop the film. What should be in the package
- An agreed number of coverage hours and events
- A full edited gallery (not just a handful of previews) with clear delivery timing
- High-resolution downloads and print rights
- A highlight selection for sharing quickly
- If film is included: a highlight film, and ideally a same-day edit to play at the reception
How to choose (don't just pick the cheapest)
The cheapest quote is rarely the cheapest decision — you only get married once, and you can't re-shoot it. Before you book:
- Watch a full gallery and a full film, not just a curated 6-second clip.
- Check they've shot your kind of wedding — Indian, expat, destination — and know the rituals and pace.
- Make sure the quote is all-in, so there are no surprise charges for editing, travel or extra hours.
- Meet the actual person shooting it — chemistry matters when they're with you all day.
Where the money actually goes
Wedding photography looks expensive per day and stops looking expensive the moment you count the days. The shoot is the visible part and rarely the largest one.

The questions worth asking before you book
- How many hours, and when does the clock start? Getting-ready coverage is often quoted as an extra and assumed as included.
- Is there a second shooter? For anything with a ceremony and a reception, one camera cannot cover both the moment and the reaction to it.
- Who is actually shooting? With larger studios the person selling and the person turning up are frequently different people. Ask to see the work of the individual assigned to you.
- How many edited images, and how long until delivery? Both should be numbers in the contract, not adjectives.
- What happens if they fall ill? A professional has an answer to this ready. Nervousness at the question is itself the answer.
- How long are the files kept? The single most commonly skipped question, and the one people regret most two years later.
Where couples overspend and underspend
The most common overspend is hours. Booking twelve hours because it feels safer usually buys several hours of people eating, and that money moves the day much further if it is spent on a second shooter during the parts that only happen once.
The most common underspend is the album, or rather the assumption that one can be added cheaply later. It generally can — but a decision made two years on, when the gallery has been half forgotten, is a decision most couples never actually get round to making.

Hours, number of events, second shooter and album are what move it.
Should I book photo and video together?
If you want both, booking them together is usually better and often cheaper than two separate bookings. More importantly, a photo and video team that has worked together does not fight over the same position at the ceremony, which is a real and very visible problem when they have not.
How many hours of coverage do we actually need?
Most couples book more hours than they use. Rather than picking a number, map the moments that only happen once — getting ready, the ceremony, the portraits, the first dance — and buy coverage that spans those. Hours spent photographing a seated dinner are the ones people most often wish they had spent on a second shooter instead.
Do we need a second photographer?
For anything with a ceremony and a reception, it makes a real difference. One camera cannot be on the aisle and on the faces watching at the same time, and the reaction shots are frequently the ones couples care most about afterwards.
What should be included in the package?
Written into the contract: the hours and when they start, whether a second shooter is included, the number of edited images, the delivery timeline, and how long the files are kept afterwards. Anything described with an adjective rather than a number is worth turning into a number before signing.
How far in advance should we book?
Popular dates in the Dubai season go early, and the photographers with the strongest work go earliest. Six to twelve months is comfortable; shorter is workable but narrows the choice considerably.
How long until we get our photos?
A short preview within a few days is normal, with the full edited gallery following over several weeks depending on the size of the wedding. Culling and grading a full day honestly takes longer than most couples expect, and a very fast full delivery is usually a sign that one of those stages was skipped.
Is the cheapest quote ever the right choice?
Sometimes, but check what it excludes before deciding. Cheap quotes are usually cheap because of fewer hours, no second shooter, a smaller edited set, or an unnamed shooter assigned later. If those are all fine for your day, the cheap quote is genuinely the right answer — the mistake is assuming they are included.
Do you travel outside Dubai for weddings?
Yes — across the UAE and to India regularly, since I work between Dubai and Bangalore. Travel is quoted inside the same all-in number rather than added afterwards.
